I found Jon Gabriel’s book and CD late last year. To me, it is the missing link. I have tried just about everything including many diets, weight watchers, Jenny Craig, Tony Ferguson, etc etc. I even had lapband surgery twice many years ago, and still have an adjustable band in place, but enlarged to the maximum. That is the only way I could keep food down.

[SharePost] 3 Stumbling Blocks to Weight Loss

My highest weight was 305 pounds. I was unhealthy, unfit and looked it. For 10 years I struggled with obesity until I finally reached the point where I knew something had to change. I had tried over and over to get started losing weight, but something always seemed to get in the way.

Finally, after becoming frightened I could end up housebound, severely ill or dead, I got serious about my weight and lost 150 pounds. I didn’t join a group, use any supplements, eat weird foods or have surgery. I’ve maintained the loss for twelve years, through four more pregnancies.

Volunteer Work Leads to Healthy Eating

Feb 5th, 2009 Posted in Weight Loss | no comment »

Between volunteering at the hospital, delivering meals on wheels attending the Shape Up Tennessee Class, and doing my exercises, I haven’t been able to find my way to the computer to make a post.

One benefit we have as a hospital volunteer is a free meal each day we work.  They always have healthy well-balanced food choices as well as some not so healthy (french fries and cheese sauce).

I was proud of myself, as I chose healthy food each day I worked.  I took my dessert home to my mom every day.  It was hard to resist the lemon cake but I got it home in one piece.  I made a point of drinking 3 bottles of water while I was working as well.

Losing Weight Rocks!

So there I was, turning on Skype to see who was on. I was minding my business when I saw a buddy of mine who I hadn’t spoken to in a while. His name is Alejandro Reyes. I met him a while back online and we’ve been cool since. Flash back to about 2 months ago or so: I recall asking him about losing weight. He said he was planning on it, but it was sort of like a shrug off. So I left it alone.
