A Tip or Two for Motivation…

Oct 28th, 2009 Posted in Weight Loss | no comment »

It is no secret that getting motivated to work out is sometimes as easy as threading a camel through the eye of a needle. We all have things going on: errands to run, dinners to cook; and fitting a workout into the schedule can be nearly impossible.

But if you find something that you enjoy and look forward to, it will be easier for you to make time for it. We all make time to eat; mostly because it is a fabulous pastime. But the other end of the spectrum is oftentimes harder to enjoy. By taking part in an exercise routine that you loathe, chances are slim that you will continue to do it.

Building Muscles Using An Echo Gas Trimmer

We picked up another lawn customer this past week.  It’s a very large apartment complex.  It took us a little over 3 days to cut and trim the entire place.  I cut grass with my pushmower as well as the small rider the first day.  (even apt. complexes have hills down here) The second and third day, I was doing edging with an Echo SRM 230 string trimmer.  The first day I used the trimmer from 9:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  The second day I used the trimmer from 9:00 AM until 6:45 PM.  I didn’t take a lunch break and only stopped long enough to drink some water  while I was cutting the first day.  The second day it was much hotter so we did take an hour lunch break.

You Don’t Have to Be Diabetic to Love This Cookbook

Jul 16th, 2009 Posted in Weight Loss | no comment »

This book is the brainchild of Tom Valenti – a man who is aptly qualified, being both a chef and a type II diabetic – and was borne out of experimenting with dishes to accommodate his condition. Eventually the modified meals become second nature to him, and he noticed weight loss, more energy, and better skin as a result.

The book rests on the premise there is no “diabetic diet,” meaning every diabetic has differing needs based on individual factors.

The Law Of Giving

Feb 19th, 2009 Posted in Weight Loss | no comment »

I love to buy cards for all occassions but usually forget to send them.  Yesterday I found this card I bought for a friend when I was visiting in Australia  four years ago.  She called me last night and I shared it with her.  I’m still going to mail it to her but I also wanted to share it with everyone else.  It’s so touching.

           THE LAW OF GIVING

What ever you give away today, Or think or say or do, will multiply about tenfold, And return one day to you.

Guess Who’s Back…In the Health Zone

Jan 18th, 2009 Posted in Weight Loss | no comment »

I’m really feeling in the zone lately. That’s a good thing. Scratch that…it’s a GREAT thing. I feel good mentally and you can’t top that, not at this stage of things at least. I’ve been maintaining my workouts and mixing things up which should keep my body guessing. Eating wise, I have been a freaking rock star! Eating as healthy as I have ever eaten, but still indulging in food I love that tastes good.

So, I was on the treadmill zoning out to Eminem’s Guess Who’s Back, or is it Without Me, on my iPod. Those of you that know the song will get the video above, others won’t.
